03Material truthAnswer forming

IF_fruit leather is truly sustainable

You love the way it ages. You also love the animal, the river, the person who made it. We wanted to hold all of that at once.

Why we ask

Leather is the object where desire and conscience meet most honestly. We refuse to pretend the tension isn't real.

And we refuse to end it with guilt. There are good reasons to want a thing that lasts thirty years — and good questions to ask before you do.

What we're looking into

  • 01What leather actually is, from tannery to patina
  • 02What the alternatives are made of, and what they quietly cost
  • 03Why durability is its own kind of ethics
  • 04How to choose without losing either pleasure or principle
